Frodo baggins books8/10/2023 The insight he has developed through the adventures of The Fellowship results in his wise yet difficult decision to break the Company of the Ring and travel to Mordor on his own. ![]() By the end of The Fellowship of the Ring, Frodo has accepted his responsibility in bearing the Ring to Mordor, despite the likely cost of his life. ![]() Despite lacking skills in fighting or magic, Frodo proves himself a worthy candidate to bear the Ring due to his humility and his genuine lack of desire to wield the weapon for its power. The Ring has a corrupting influence on all creatures (apart from the exceptional Tom Bombadil), especially on those individuals that bear it. Frodo is an unassuming hobbit who, like his uncle, surprises his peers with his resilience and quiet heroism. He is accompanied by his loyal friends Sam, Merry, and Pippin, and the four hobbits become members of the Company of the Ring that sets out from Rivendell to destroy the Ring in Mordor. Although frightened, Frodo gamely agrees to Gandalf’s plan for him to deliver the Ring to the elf-haven Rivendell. Once he repossesses the Ring, Sauron will have total power over the Free Peoples of Middle-earth. Sauron has recently learned of the Ring’s whereabouts and has sent his servants, the Black Riders, to the Shire to find it. However, he is propelled beyond the Shire’s borders when his friend and mentor Gandalf the Grey advises him that the magic ring Bilbo recently gifted him is in fact the Dark Lord Sauron’s One Ring. We are grateful for the opportunity to meet here and re-affirm our collective commitment to truth and reconciliation now and for future generations. The favored nephew of the famous Bilbo Baggins, Frodo is a hobbit who loves his home in the Shire too much to give in to itching feelings for adventure in the wider world. We are thankful for and enriched by the contributions all Indigenous Peoples have made and continue to make in shaping and strengthening this community. As people who live and work in Kitchener, we aim to renew our accountability to those Indigenous Nations and all Indigenous Peoples and Communities living in Canada and around the world today. We recognize and deeply appreciate Indigenous Peoples’ historical and ongoing connection to the land. We acknowledge that this land is part of the Haldimand Tract, an area that includes six miles on either side of the Grand River and that was promised to the Haudenosaunee Six Nations and other Indigenous allies in 1784. To further understand the history of the story, you can also read “The Hobbit”, but even if you don’t, “The Fellowship of the Ring” still makes sense either way.įind “ The Fellowship of the Ring ” at the Kitchener Public Library!Īs we gather, we are reminded that Kitchener Public Library and all of its locations are settled on land that is the traditional home of the Chonnonton (Chi-nawn-ton), Anishinaabe (Ah-ni-shnah-bay) and Haudenosaunee (Ho-deh-no-show-nee). But for someone who likes long adventure stories and fiction, you should read the other two books in the trilogy, “The Two Towers” and “The Return of the King”. The writing was excellent and easy to read, but it was not the most entertaining book I have read so far. Personally, I found that the book was very long and sometimes boring in parts. The popularity of “The Fellowship of the Ring” and the rest of the trilogy has decreased in the past few years since the films came out, but the books are still good to read. This character is stretched to the limits, and it is exciting to read about his journey. Thus my favorite part of the book was the final chapter, “The Breaking of the Fellowship,” because you get to see Frodo show all of his bravery and determination to finish his task. My favorite character in the book was Frodo. The story's main characters are Frodo Baggins and Samwise Gamgee, whose friendship inspires their determination and bravery throughout the book. This adventure could lead to complete victory and the defeat of the enemy, or death and the enemy winning and oppressing all of Middle-earth for eternity. “ The Fellowship of the Ring” is a fictional story about two hobbits that go on an adventure to destroy the enemy's only thing to control Middle-earth. Tolkien and is the first book of the “Lord of the Rings” trilogy. “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring” was written by J.
